Open Director Positions

Vice President/Director of Operations.  This position provides overall coordination of the individual committee efforts.  He/she will work directly with the Board of Directors and Coach English to make sure that everything is progressing as planned regarding task, schedule and budget.

Secretary.  Attends Board of Director meetings and provides minutes of Board Meeting proceedings.

Open Committee Leaders Positions

First Pitch Dinner.  Each season, we hold a dinner the weekend before official practice starts to kick-off the Spring season.  The Board's intent this year is to scale back this activity from previous years.  The Committee leader will coordinate the date, location, food and activities with Coach English and the Board and coordinate the volunteers.

Membership.  The membership coordinator will be the focal point for our annual membership drive.  While membership can be set up online, this person coordinates membership tracking, stocking and distribution of membership bennies (stickers, hats, t-shirts, etc) and generally bugs people until everyone joins.

Player Signs:  This person coordinates with the vendor for sales of player yard signs.

Concessions:  This person leads the management of Club concessions sales.  This includes purchase and re-stocking the stand and scheduling the workers.  THIS PERSON DOES NOT RUN THE STAND DURING GAMES!  Part of everyone's commitment to the Club is to run at least one shift in the stand.

Game Day Activities:  This person coordinates the volunteers for the preparation of Varsity/JV games to include ensuring someone raises the American flag and puts the CC pennants up, coordinates scheduling of PA and scoreboard personnel and coordinates the PA script.

Program Coordinator:  This person will lead the effort to put together the Game Day Program to include finding an affordable layout/printer source, working with Coach English and the layout/printer to coordinate and approve all designs and coordinate distribution to sponsors and game day sales.  This person is not solely responsible for selling Program ads but will coordinate with the Director of Fundraising to ensure that all ad sales are properly reflected in the Program.

End of Season Banquet.  As with the First Pitch Dinner, the Board's intent is to scale back this activity (the goat roping was fun but we don't need the extra expense)!  This person will coordinate the date, location, food and activities with Coach English and the Board and will coordinate all volunteers.

Senior Night Coordinator.  This person coordinates the activities to recognize senior players and parents before our last home game.

Community Day Coordinator.  This person coordinates between Coach English and the Coppell Baseball Association to put on our annual clinic for local youth baseball players and coaches.

Participants are selected in accordance with the Club’s bylaws. Coach English has significant input in this process. The Board elects new members to the Board. The Board elects the President. The President identifies and suggests officers to serve in year-round capacities who are then approved and elected by the Board. The VP-Operations reviews and selects members to chair the individual committees. The President reviews and approves the VP-Operations’ selections and the President and VP-Operations report to the Board. The chairman of each committee selects additional volunteers for his/her committee as he/she sees fit.

In the discretion of the Board, many of the positions set forth above may remain staffed with the same person who held that position this year. However, it is important for the Board to know what areas you are interested in, for purposes of filling a position in the event of a vacancy or in the event the current volunteer needs assistance.

Please don't be discouraged if you are not called upon to volunteer in a leadership role. It typically has nothing to do with your interest or abilities. Board members and officers are generally picked as a result of (a) tenure and experience with Club affairs, (b) unique abilities (legal, construction, sales, etc.), (c) proven spirit of volunteerism, and (d) team attitude.  Generally, you will have had to serve in a committee position before being considered for an officer's position and in an officer's position before being considered for a Board position (although this is not always true and is not required by the Bylaws).

Thank you SO MUCH for your time, talent and treasures. The Club is blessed to have such fine parents and volunteers.

***Please provide comments as to, in your opinion, how we (a) are doing things right, (b) are doing things wrong, and (c) can do things better.  This input is important.
