Graduated from the University of Texas in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in English and Communication. He received his Masters degree in Education Administration from East Texas State University (Texas A&M Commerce) in 1984. He and his wife, Beverly, just celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in January. They reside in Plano and attend The Heights Baptist Church in Richardson. They have three children: Jordan, 25, Grant, 23, and Wade, 20. This is Coach English's seventh year as Head Coach of the Cowboys, and his seventh year to sponsor The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has compiled a record of 141 wins and 68 losses. Coach English began his first season in Coppell in 2003 after 22 years of coaching, 18 as a head coach. His previous stops were at West Mesquite High School, where he began the baseball program and led his '84 team to the school's first-ever playoff game. In 1987 he traveled across town to become the head baseball coach of the Highland Park Scots. In nine years his teams finished first or second in their district five times. The next six years he coached Plano East to one Regional Semi-Final, two Quarter-Finals, and one Area-Final berth. From 1998-1999, Coach English served as President of the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association. He coached the THSBCA All-Star game at The Dell Diamond in 2005. This June, he will coach the West Team in the North Texas High School All Star Game at Quick Trip Park, home of the Grand Prairie Air Hogs.
